Exploring Passau - Collecting the bikes.

What a delightfully picturesque town this is - and the weather is perfect for cycling.

After a delicious Continental Breakfast (I could get used to these), we explored the route out of Passau. We walked the first few kilometres to familiarise ourselves with it.

In the afternoon, we walked to the Globus Garage to pick up our bikes, battery chargers and locks. The e-bikes were of good quality, both with Bosch computers and batteries and with a spacious pannier bag.

With the rest of the day to get used to our bikes, we investigated the old town centre with its narrow, cobbled streets, archways and the central square in front of its beautiful, elaborate church.

There were tourists everywhere. We decided to hop off the bikes and push them. Tomorrow there would be fewer people around and we could ride.

We made our way through the old town then down the hill, past the University, turning right onto the cycle path alongside the Inn River, which led into the Danube.

How exciting! We can't wait to get going!
